It's playable. Not good, it's lacking most of the content, but it is playable. Let me know what you think, and check out the latest Game Des Doc to see what I want to change.
Haven't had the chance to work on it much lately, uni is really busy, (Blender is HARD, but I'm pumped for my current assingment, Zombie's survival (play as the zombie, try and rack up a huge brain count)) and I've hardly been at home. Still, feedback is more then appreciated.
Hrmm... still can't do anything with it. Every time I try to load it up it says the specified path does not exist. Is there a certain folder I need to put it in?
You need to put it into the mods folder in the Beyond the Sword folder. It should be something along the lines of: CivIV/BtS/Mods/wh40k depending where civ is installed on your compy, etc.
To the more recent Anon, is there any error messaqge?
There's actually two different errors. The first one says "failed to load the battleship_apocalypse unit." But as far as the crash goes, there's no error, it just says "Civ 4 has stopped working."
For that one it's likely I've messed up the code on that unit, but that shouldn't crash the game - just launch it without the battleship available (civIV is great like that).
I honestly have no idea what the Civ4 has stopped working thing is about. Do you load the mod, and then it crashes when you try and start a game, or does it crash when you try and load the mod?
Thanks, finally got it to work, excited to see it when you get it into beta. Civ and WH40K are two of my favorite hobbies, and this is a match made in heaven. Keep it up!
Awesome! It won't hit beta anytime soon, I'm uber busy with uni right now. I'll let everyone know when I'm working on this again. I made the mod for the exact same reason :).
Is it playable yet? I couldn't get it to work. Really excited to try it out!

No the mod loads just fine, it's while I'm trying to start the game after all the options have been chosen. It crashes after loading about 80%.
ReplyDeleteWhat options are you choosing? I recommend going with the Galaxy options for map type - The rest don't seem to work at all.
